Product Description
Threaded Coupling for Secure, Vibration-Resistant Connections
FC fiber optic connectors use a metal threaded coupling mechanism, providing excellent stability in environments subject to vibration or movement. Both FC/UPC and FC/APC types are available, offering reliable physical contact and repeatable performance for multimode applications.
Ferrule Material and Polishing Types
Each connector is built with a 2.5 mm zirconia ceramic ferrule, ensuring durability and precision alignment. FC/UPC connectors feature an ultra-physical contact polish for low insertion loss and high return loss, while FC/APC connectors adopt an 8° angled polish to minimize back reflection.
Optical Performance Specifications
According to the technical data, FC/UPC multimode connectors typically achieve insertion loss ≤ 0.3 dB and return loss ≥ 50 dB. FC/APC variants provide insertion loss ≤ 0.3 dB and even higher return loss ≥ 60 dB, making them ideal for systems sensitive to reflection such as CATV and high-speed networks.
Mechanical and Environmental Durability
Both UPC and APC types operate reliably across a temperature range of −40 °C to +85 °C, and withstand humidity up to 95%. The nickel-plated metal housing ensures corrosion resistance and long service life even in challenging environments.
Applications in Multimode Fiber Systems
These connectors are suitable for OM1/OM2 multimode fibers and can be deployed in optical distribution frames, terminal boxes, instrumentation, and short-distance data links where high stability and low loss are essential.
