EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) es una tecnología de acceso de banda ancha que utiliza tramas estándar de Ethernet transmitidas a través de una red de fibra pasiva punto a multipunto. Se define en IEEE 802,3ah y permite un ancho de banda simétrico, normalmente 1,25 Gbps aguas abajo y aguas arriba, lo que lo hace ideal para entregar servicios de Internet, voz y video a través de fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) o despliegues domésticos (FTTH).

Ancho de banda: Típicamente 1,25 Gbps simétrico; con 10G-EPON ofrece hasta 10 Gbps de capacidad.
